I hold treasured memories of a remarkable book from my early childhood, a vivid tapestry woven around the enchanting tales of prophets, especially the riveting saga of Prophet Yunus. The illustrations were nothing short of breathtaking, with the striking image of the colossal whale engulfing a human seared into my memory. The narrative artfully depicted the tension of this human’s confinement in the whale’s belly—an ordeal stretching on with nail-biting suspense—before he was ultimately cast back to land. Even though my childhood memories might not be filled with intricate details, I was utterly mesmerised by the stunning visuals that brought the profound story to life, with only a handful of words needed to do so. Alongside this tale, the book contained other equally captivating stories, like that of Prophet Musa, whose staff dramatically morphed into a snake—an image so incredible, it sparked wonder in my young heart. While I may not remember each specific detail from the narratives, the essence and moral teachings of these stories have lingered within me, igniting an enduring curiosity and admiration for these historical and spiritual giants throughout my life.
