Embracing Collective Conversations

Why removing the I in every sentence matter in my opinion that I choose

Choose to give up the word “I.” There is a strong aversion to discussing personal experiences when engaging in conversations about matters of significance. This discomfort arises from a deep-seated desire. The aim is to direct attention more towards the diverse ideas and rich experiences being shared. This is preferred rather than focusing on individual identity. Instead, using “me” in every context that holds importance feels significantly more appropriate. These contexts include expressing opinions and presenting ideas. Doing so aligns with the intention of fostering connection. By embracing this approach, a more inclusive and inviting conversation is fostered. This encourages others to participate. They are invited to share their perspectives without making it solely about one person’s viewpoint. This transformative shift paves the way for a broader dialogue in which the unique thoughts and contributions of everyone involved are genuinely valued and acknowledged.
