Night is characterized by a veil of darkness that envelops the universe, creatures, and all that is created. Typically, night presents itself in a black hue when devoid of light and moonlight. Some references describe nighttime as a period for plants, during which they utilize light to absorb and later release oxygen. In complete darkness, humans generally struggle to see without nearby illumination.
Morning is defined as the emergence of the sun following the end of night; this can also be described as the appearance of radiant light after the shroud of darkness. In the Quran, Surah Al-Lail highlights the transition from night to day, illustrating the distinction between the two. Morning is often linked to positivity due to its refreshing air and coolness.
Am I inclined towards night or morning? This is a straightforward question to answer. I usually start my day in the morning when the fresh air flows in. Rising early is vital, particularly when Muslims prepare for the Subuh prayer. This marks the start of daily routines before dawn. Maintaining proper hygiene is emphasized as it aligns with the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw).
Early morning is the time for breakfast or iftar, where consuming food and water is vital for energy before tackling the day’s tasks. The Prophet’s Sunnah recommends eating and hydrating in the morning. Wearing clean and tidy clothes promotes clarity while working with others, especially in collaborative efforts. While these are not mandatory, they underscore the importance of cleanliness.
Previously, I would stay up late, particularly during school days when completing assignments was crucial. The pressure to finish tasks, coupled with a need for entertainment and skill-building, consumed my time. Those carefree days of enjoying indie games seem to have passed; now I focus on my responsibilities.
However, today I went to bed early, which is vital for a refreshing morning, allowing me to wake up energized and ready to face the day. I appreciated the previous night and recognize that staying up late can be detrimental to health and mood; maintaining a proper sleep schedule is essential. Tonight, I have no major plans, just a few activities such as reading before bed.
Preparing for the morning hinges on getting sufficient sleep, enabling my body to be alert and awake at the appropriate morning hour. Additionally, Muslims can embrace early rising through other Sunnah prayers like Tahajjud, typically performed in the early hours. This practice fosters a connection with Allah before the day begins.
I am no longer inclined to be a night person due to work commitments; I must now prioritize mornings. Transitioning to becoming a morning person greatly aids in maintaining my identity, fostering connections with the world, experiencing sunlight, and inhaling fresh morning air. I now appreciate the value of waking up early, as it allows for wise time management rather than engaging in frivolous activities.
