A favorite is something that is frequently done, always appreciated, or a must for you. The category of favorites is unique in its own way, distinguished by specific qualities. It typically possesses its own reasons for being a favorite, rooted in personal characteristics and associations. The selection of favorites can also be shaped by personal and family influences, making it uniquely yours due to its frequent occurrence.
A place refers to a structure built by humans. This structure is distinct from any other due to its unique attributes, including quality, materials, price, and labor. Each place has specific features, such as the services it offers, marketing, prayer, and other positive aspects. There may be ample space and designated parking, depending on the site’s location.
The term “visited” refers to being open to individuals wanting to enter or access a building. This can also apply to structures that are not conventional buildings, like tents. Visitors are welcomed or invited to these places where others are also coming in. Such visited locations may be open to the general public or restricted to specific individuals connected to it or curious passersby.
My favorite place, which I visit weekly, is one I go to when I leave my home to prepare for the visit. It is situated close to my residence, nearly 2 km away. Typically, people use vehicles like motorcycles or cars to reach this location, which is how I usually get there. Although walking to the mosque is encouraged by the Sunnah, I often end up using my parent’s vehicle due to the common practice of others using cars.
For Muslims, attending Jummah prayer is mandatory for every Muslim who is capable and not ill. Missing the obligatory weekly prayer for over three weeks is deemed haram and can lead to spiritual deterioration. The Quran emphasizes, in Surah Jummah, that all Muslim men should set aside their business for a time to unite in worship of God and to educate those unaware of the Day of Judgment and death.
This understanding has highlighted the importance and necessity of attending Friday prayer, especially for those living nearby, being in good health, and capable of attending. The mosque is also a place where I frequently receive free food, as there are often people who provide meals through sadaqah or prepare food for others. The mosque remains my most visited location compared to any other place since I tend to go elsewhere primarily for work or leisure.
There are additional mosques I could visit, but they are significantly farther away, often more than 2 km from the nearest mosque. I used to go to one of these locations years ago, but it has been neglected for over a decade, thus making the closer mosque more appealing. Other mosques are situated farther from my home, located in a more populated city, and possibly larger in size (it’s been a long time since I visited).
In conclusion, my favorite places are always tied to the religion I practice, and attending these locations has become a habitual aspect of my life. While I do visit other places occasionally for small errands to maintain my livelihood, these visits are not on a weekly basis. This underscores why this particular place holds a special significance for me, as I recognize that Friday is also why God created the world in six days, with Friday being regarded as a sacred day for Muslims.
