Reflecting on Life Changes: A Year in Review

What I planned a year ago compared to my current situation?
Daily writing prompt
Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?
  • Life is defined as living organisms that inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. Life involves existing by consuming food and drinking water to sustain oneself through these activities. The nutrients derived from these actions keep living organisms sustained for extended periods. Without these activities, life cannot exist as they are essential for maintaining other living beings’ survival.
  • Today refers to the current time of the day and year, which is the latest one. A week consists of 7 days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Time is generally perceived as a cyclical event that occurs daily, and each day encompasses a series of events. There are also months and years, calculated based on each day’s passage.
  • A picture is an image that can be observed with the eyes or felt with the heart, which can be expressed or shared through speech, writing, or drawing. When there is a picture, it evokes imagination that can inspire following its themes or using it as an example.
  • A year represents a span of time compiled from every single day, which is ultimately consolidated into a single figure. This concept is rooted in the natural order of celestial references such as the sun, moon, and planets. Following the sun’s cycle, a year comprises 365 days, marking a complete orbit of the Earth around the sun.
  • Ago denotes something that has already occurred in time and is not part of the present day, month, or year. Yesterday is considered in the past, as it is neither today nor current. The term ago often carries a negative connotation, contrasting with the positive symbols used for the future, while neutrality is represented by the notion of the present or today.
  • In the past few years, I have never envisioned anything that transcends my current situation, particularly concerning my work conditions and financial compensation. Last year, I hoped to generate a solid income to support my future needs. I have never imagined being homeless, bankrupt, or lacking family, friends, and support. My idea at the time was simply to continue with what I had been doing for many years.
  • Moving forward, I hope I never regret this statement regarding the actions I have taken, such as working, spending, saving, or investing in certain endeavors. Additionally, the decisions made in previous years have predominantly been based on potential gains and benefits rather than on other factors. Engaging in this manner allows me to continue acquiring necessary and beneficial outcomes from past decisions.
  • Furthermore, I had once focused on skill-building, but have shifted my focus to seeking employment, as clients occasionally reach out to me. Consequently, things have not been depicted clearly as they truly are. Securing contracts and facing losses has become part of my life, particularly in the present day. I am striving to establish longer-term connections with clients to create more business opportunities, and I hope to achieve this in the coming years.
  • In conclusion, things have not unfolded as I had envisioned, especially in the present time, where I still find it challenging to attain many essentials like money, relationships, peace, food, health, and more. I am making an effort to rectify everything I can to facilitate my progress in a more profound and meaningful manner concerning the aspects I have mentioned above.
