This was particularly helpful concerning short circuits. Initially, I made several mistakes. I mistakenly believed that the laptop’s power supply was the source of the issue. This belief led me to replace the wires, an effort that proved ineffective. Over time, I engaged with the YouTube content. I was motivated to purchase specific tools to address the challenges myself. The first tool I acquired was a multimeter, designed for diagnosing problems by identifying and measuring the electronic components on the board.
  • I find myself wanting to laugh at this moment because I could not identify the dead electronic component without ancillary equipment, such as a power supply. The power supply serves as the source of power, facilitating defect detection on the board through heating. When excessive heat accumulates on the board, the faulty components reveal themselves and should be replaced. During the repair process, I discovered that some of my electronics were nonfunctional, which brought me joy. Despite making several mistakes, such as powering the supply without reinstalling certain components, which led to the damage of the battery charging circuit, I learned a great deal.

These tools prove invaluable when replacing defective parts after sourcing new replacements, which requires locating the necessary components. Overall, it was a rewarding success when I replaced the electronic parts, and upon measuring with the multimeter, they functioned properly. Throughout the repair journey, I went through a mix of emotions. I felt anger, happiness, and sadness. However, I maintained patience. I also sought additional information through online research.
  • I persisted in my repairs until I learned to preheat the board for changing specific components, such as chipsets, and undertaking BGA work regarding those. It has been an enriching experience, particularly utilizing only the basic tools available. The incomplete toolset caused some challenges in effectively proceeding. In conclusion, I find myself inclined to abandon the DIY project due to the substantial time and resources it demands, especially while fixing the laptop. I remain uncertain whether I should consider restarting it in the future, especially concerning the time I would need to devote compared to other pursuits.
