It was a time of joy where we frequently met, especially during school hours, and familiarized ourselves with one another. There were instances when we returned home together after school and got to know each other’s families, creating a newfound sense of belonging, particularly when something happened to a friend.
Although those times have passed, like many other chapters I’ve experienced, not just in school but also in various programs or events throughout my life, saying goodbye remains the most difficult chapter for me, especially to friends I hold dear. It was memorable for me and likely for them as well. I genuinely went through that situation and never bid farewell to any other friend; I simply left without acknowledging it and behaved as if nothing had occurred. This has happened many times in my life, leaving me uncertain of how to respond to such events.
In conclusion, if I had the opportunity at that moment, I would express some final greetings before the farewell since we might never see each other again. My past mistakes are ones I confront even today, as I failed to say phrases like “assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabaraktuh” and others that are essential for Muslims.
