Five Daily Joys That Bring Happiness

  • An enquiry consists of a specific question related to a subject, containing several pieces of information that are unknown to the person being questioned.
  • The term “mean” is not the singular form of a word; it is used alongside other words that often appear in plural form, signifying more than one.
  • “Five” refers to the numerical value of five, commonly associated with human hands, which have five fingers.
  • “Everyday” means occurring on each day of the week, typically starting from Monday and repeating from Monday to Sunday.
  • “Things” refer to objects that can be visually perceived, which serve as symbols in a person’s mind to be interpreted and understood.
  • “That” is a word used in conjunction with others within a sentence or paragraph, often serving to refer to a different word instead of the object’s actual name.
  • “Bring” means to give someone an object that may be either physical or non-physical, fulfilling their satisfaction or consumption.
  • “You” refers to the writer of the blog post, expressing personal opinions and viewpoints based on the information provided and the responses given.
  • “Happiness” or “happy” describes a person’s ability to achieve a sense of well-being in life through their expressions and actions, as opposed to aspects that may be contradictory or cause unrest.

The five everyday things that bring me happiness include food and drink. I derive pleasure from these experiences, especially when the food is healthy and enjoyable. Typically, I assess the quality of the food by smelling, tasting, or eating it to decide whether to continue consuming it or to discard it. I find this particularly satisfying during breaks from work when I enjoy leftover rice from the kitchen. Even a small portion makes a significant difference to my health, especially when my body needs nourishment.

One thing that brings me happiness is waking up and waiting a little longer for others to rise from their slumber. This usually happens in the morning, when you can find someone to talk to instead of being alone, especially if you’re single. Engaging in conversation with someone who supports you in life is perhaps the best way to enhance your well-being. Often, you converse in your mother tongue with the person who knows you best, which is usually your mother. I experience this joy, and even during minor disagreements, it still brings a smile to my face as I strive to follow the traditions of the Prophet (PBUH).

Using a computer or typing on a keyboard to connect with others online and search for information has been incredibly beneficial, allowing me to do things easily and safely from home. I started using computers in high school and later switched to a laptop, and this electronic system has taught me valuable lessons—both positive and negative—that have guided me in the right direction that Allah has intended for me, particularly regarding my destiny. Over time, I’ve noticed a decline in my social circle as I’ve lost touch with old friends, particularly those without access to this technology. I’ve been trying to rebuild those relationships, but I often feel happier than before; without this connection, I feel ignorant and disconnected from the world.

Praying has brought me significant happiness every day, contributing to my well-being through my connection to Allah. Engaging in movements related to prayer helps me fulfill the ideals of the Islamic faith and strive to become a better person. Practices like dhikr and dua deepen my understanding of my relationship with Allah, recognizing that all things originate from Him, who holds power over humanity. While humans inevitably make mistakes, I acknowledge this and continually seek His guidance and assistance.

Lastly, what brings me joy is having the time to sleep and unwind, as these activities are essential for cooling down my mind and body, which often feel fatigued from the daily demands of work that tax both my muscles and memory. The stress associated with work, particularly regarding performance, makes it vital to seek a balance that allows me to keep progressing without excessively disrupting my daily life and hindering the necessities for living. Sleep is crucial for every human being; indeed, Allah has created it to provide pleasure, especially for me, allowing me to recharge and regain energy after long hours of work.

By sleeping, one can regain performance energy to achieve their best, allowing them to carry out their tasks with enhanced concentration and focus. This occurs when sleep is taken at a consistent time, neither too early nor too late, reflecting what is typical for most people. Following the sleep practices recommended by the Prophet (saw) is advised, serving as an excellent example to emulate! Please let me know your thoughts in the comment section.
