The first thing that comes to mind as I prepare to help my father today is my concern about the clothes I need to wear for work. The clothes I plan to use are dirty, have an odor, and haven’t been washed in the past five days due to my ongoing responsibilities. Although there are breaks on certain days, I haven’t taken the opportunity to clean them because I ran out of washing detergent, which I normally use to scrub the clothes clean and hang them out to dry. I realize my mistake; this situation occurs frequently, especially after Eid al-Fitr concludes, as the celebrations often continue until the end of Shawwal.

Since yesterday, I’ve been contemplating how to finalize my father’s plans for returning to work, as his success largely depends on my support. Without my help, things could go awry, especially concerning his job, which involves a partner who can expedite processes. I discovered an alternative solution for the clothes, which had become grimy and odorous; by spreading them out in a well-ventilated area, the fan can help eliminate the smell and dry the sweat accumulated from the past few days of work. I’m hopeful this approach will be effective, allowing me to wear the clothes again to assist my father and support our family, while also contributing to my siblings. Fortunately, I noticed that the clothes are already drying and should be ready to wear soon after a bit of airflow.

Even though the odor and some discoloration may still be present, which I haven’t noticed, it likely doesn’t matter because the work will make the clothes much more comfortable. My body will quickly generate heat through the tasks at hand, utilizing my blood to stay warm. I find this quite amusing and somewhat neutral, as I rarely wear the same clothes multiple times in a week. This is just to ensure that the clothes remain suitable for use, and the job alleviates the worries I have today. Ultimately, these concerns seem trivial and will probably fade away during both work and rest hours.

In conclusion, these are the thoughts that came to mind yesterday when my father asked me to assist with his work again to expedite the process and complete the task quickly. I felt I couldn’t decline, as doing so might negatively impact our relationship in the future. Normally, I respond more swiftly with quick answers, but these reflections have been occupying my mind, and I had been contemplating them before sleep.
