The best concert I have attended is essentially a religious festival, where various activities take place among people, held at the mosque in my area. This event occurred in late December 2024, and I attended in the evening. I believe the activities ran from 9 AM to 10 PM, featuring vendors selling food and drinks throughout the day. There was also a children’s playground in the parking area for kids to enjoy while their parents explored the mosque. Although I didn’t participate in the activities, I learned about the kids who were having fun while their parents supported the merchants selling goods. I heard that attendance was lower during the day, particularly from my parents, who went to buy items and support the vendors.

I believe they sell not only food and drink but also clothing from various brands that resonate with Arab culture. During my visit, I found some items I liked, but I only had a small amount of money, which I planned to use for food and donations. There is a traditional hat called a kopiah, which Muslims usually wear for prayer and when attending the mosque. It represents religious identity and makes the attire beautiful. Personally, I still wear the kopiah that my grandmother gave me during her visit to Mecca many years ago. This kopiah is old, yet I continue to wear it when attending prayers and events like weddings. The clothing I wear is also quite traditional; some pieces are a half kurta paired with trousers, which gives a somewhat incomplete look, but they are comfortable and modest. I believe they sold perfumes as well, but I couldn’t focus on those items at the time.

I plan to wear perfume when attending community gatherings such as at the mosque, where many people come together and interact. Wearing perfume also aligns with the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW). Recently, I’ve focused on understanding the purpose of perfume, researching when and how to wear it. Additionally, I believe that concerts often feature events like nasheed performances by young artists. I noticed some individuals using musical instruments to entertain the audience, but I didn’t feel much connection to the music. I was drawn to some of the good-looking young boys present, yet I chose to ignore that attraction. Once all activities concluded, I ordered traditional foods like lemang and chicken, which were delicious to enjoy when I returned home.

Before that, I participated in the obligatory Isha and Maghrib prayers alongside a group of young people while listening to nasheed songs. I exchanged greetings of salam with everyone. Typically, after Maghrib, there would be a sermon discussing a topic related to Islam and the Prophet (SAW), which is common on such days. I believe the event was organized by the nazir leader at that time, who I think was also a teacher at a religious school. I didn’t know him well, but I had seen him many times without having spoken to him. It was a good experience for me, even though I had previously attended similar events like concerts, which I don’t remember much about. In conclusion, this concert was one of the best I’ve attended in recent years, especially since my father also joined the event, and there were many people there whom I didn’t know. This concert might be one of the last live musical performances related to Islam that I will attend. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
