Understanding Let’s Gold: A New RPG and Slot Machine Game

  • I am developing the Let’s Gold game with three others, all under the code name Fantastic Four. The game features both an RPG (role-playing game) and a First-Person Runner. It boasts multiple levels set in various historical places. The game is a 3-D Android and iOS mobile device that can be downloaded from their respective stores.
  • At first, I was tasked with a simple job like doing animation. Gradually, I progressed to creating another game called Slot Machine. The slot machine is a reward game. It randomizes to give certain rewards to the player, like items, gold, characters, and clothes.
  • I only completed the concept of the slot machine. Another collaborator finished the implementation of the final slot machine. I do contribute on pressing the button of slot machine and the randomize the reward.
  • One thing I learn is using integer numbers. This increases the chance of getting a certain reward for the player, like an item potion in the game. This make the game exactly did not like gambling or casino because the randomize is increment to get threshold between the value of either gold, item, character or clothes
  • I learn also to press, hold and release button slot to play the slot machine when you have the point you can just continue play until you release the button slot after press the button slot
  • The last task I need to do is dragging, resizing, and opening buttons for slot machines. The drag size must match other smartphone screen sizes. The dragging position also must not exceed a certain value threshold. So, closing and opening the slot machine is done by pressing this button.
  • Here is some of the think I have done but have been redo on the real version because I am working with some other guy in collaboration
  • I done the layout for the profile, most of the user interface like coin, energy, inventory and so on
  • I also add the user interface window to those buttons and whenever player click those windows will show up
  • For the Puro and Belly, I use the 3-D model to show using another camera and present those with the main camera using display texture outside the current view
  • This is an example of the slot machine opening button for the Let’s Gold. This button can be dragged around the screen. It has a limited position on the screen. This feature is copied from the platform shopee.com

  • Info tab show the slot machine reward type and their use
  • The spin button can be hold, click and release to make the reel spin to show current reward
  • The energy bar will be reduced after every spin at the time. Those energy will auto replenish on every minute, buying at the market will replenish automatically
  • Closing the slot machine panel will bring back menu scene at the game
  • In conclusion, I have learned many different things like improvement on looping, condition, unity engine user interface, unity editor, animation and back-end service
