The individuals I admire are those who are older than me, particularly those who have taught me and provided the support I need to persevere in life. These people currently contribute to my life, exchanging information with me in various fields as we work toward common goals. One of the first individuals I admired was my Unreal Engine lecturer from university. Whenever I attended his class, I would join some classmates to discuss Unreal Engine and our aspirations within the game development field. At that time, I was new to game development, especially when using Unreal Engine for the first time. My English was quite poor, making it difficult to understand concepts without internet access for quick searches. The first time I used Unreal Engine, I felt uncertain and was unaware of many features of the game engine.

All I know is I’m astonished by the graphics it utilizes, especially when I see others in the lab or class testing first-person shooter games where the high-quality textures and models inspire me. Thankfully, I have a fairly good laptop that can handle the system effectively, especially with Unreal Engine. Initially, I was more interested in using Blueprint within Unreal Engine, where I completed several projects, including an Endless Runner, which became my final year project and prototype before finishing the final one. During that time, I learned C++ in my first year, where I also met other lecturers who helped me with assignments outside of class and even collaborated on a board game with friends from college. Although my contributions to these projects were small, I continued to persevere.

My Unreal Engine lecture, whether held in the lab or class, motivated me to pursue online classes, leading me to purchase courses on Udemy titled “Learn C++ Using Unreal Engine” by GameDev.tv. This inspired me to seek out and enroll in various online courses during my final semester at university. Despite my interest, I have yet to complete these courses, as I have been exploring other game engines. Additionally, I often turn to my parents for guidance, especially when registering my business name to ensure compliance. At that time, I was unfamiliar with the intricacies of business registration until I delved into WordPress and desired to create a website to showcase my work and portfolio. This experience prompted me to approach my parents for assistance with online registration and to verify the requirements in person.

My parent advised me on where to file a report regarding the scam I fell victim to in 2016. During that time, I lost a significant amount of money to a criminal deception but didn’t know how to proceed, trying to move on from the experience. Recently, with the aid of artificial intelligence, I realized the importance of reporting the incident to the police, a step my parent also recommended. I continued to prepare for this, having gathered most of the necessary evidence beforehand. The last individuals I sought advice from were the police, prompting me to visit the station after receiving a call. Upon arrival, I encountered a police guard at the entrance.

After entering the police station, I had to wait outside the office for my turn while the officer inspected certain individuals who were also victims of the scam. Most of the people there had filed police reports and expressed feelings of regret, as they shared this challenging chapter of their lives. I realized this after being scammed not long ago, when money became something I valued dearly. I regretted my decision to fall victim to such schemes. When it was my turn to meet with the officer in charge of addressing my concerns, I was asked questions about why I wanted to file my report that day and other related inquiries, which I mostly answered. The verification process required my statement and thumbprint on the document to ensure its reliability, which I completed.

After extensive discussions and conversations, it was concluded that I need to submit the report to the bank where the transaction will be recorded. In conclusion, that individual is the last person I admire who offered me advice after I met them, and it made me realize the significance of their guidance, as my mistakes had led me down the wrong path.
