The best advice I can offer to someone younger than myself pertains to daily prayer, particularly in the context of Islam. It warms my heart to see a younger individual, who possesses some knowledge about prayer, practicing it inconsistently, sometimes forgetting or performing it improperly. This situation applies to someone close to me who, I believe, has less experience with religion and often finds reasons to avoid this obligatory prayer. While performing this prayer in congregation is considered sunnah, various distractions and circumstances often lead to it being done alone. Although the responsibility for this lies with the individual, I find it challenging to engage with someone who is unwilling to receive or consider guidance that could improve their situation.

I have come to realize that, based on my understanding of my younger self, I often did not pray sincerely or tended to rush through it rather than approaching it with care. This has created conflicts, particularly between myself and others who may not be fulfilling their religious obligations as they were taught since childhood. Even though primary school likely provided them with some foundational knowledge about their faith, it seems they struggle to internalize it. In the future, I can only do my best to consult with, remind, and support them in this area, perhaps through messages about the importance of these matters. Overall, I have met with negative responses that have involved issues not beneficial to myself or others.

Furthermore, understanding how my younger friend associates with others does not assist, especially since their friends exhibit similar behaviors and circumstances tied to their shared beliefs. I’ve noticed that their friends also struggle with their actions, particularly in practicing their faith, making it less likely for them to engage meaningfully and respond appropriately to different situations. Despite this, I have made efforts, like saying dua for them, hoping they receive guidance or insights that might open their hearts and inspire them to practice their faith effectively. Additionally, I find myself continuously drawn into this matter, particularly as a brother who genuinely cares and feels a sense of responsibility towards the younger ones. This responsibility lies with them, not me, as I cannot bear the burden of others’ actions and values.

In conclusion, this is the best advice I have shared with my younger sibling, particularly regarding the significance of daily prayer, which holds paramount importance for Muslims and should be prioritized in their lives after leaving common school. Beyond this, I struggled to identify other pieces of advice worth sharing, except for these few insights, especially concerning caring conversations that highlight important matters. Although a warning was issued, the response was not as positive as hoped. I would appreciate your thoughts in the comments section.
