What i know

There has never been a moment when a stranger completely restored my faith in people. I myself have never really been a leader to others or had much faith in people in general. When it comes to strangers, I usually do not know them at all, so I never feel comfortable putting my trust in them, especially in situations involving highly valuable items that could be taken. At the same time, there are moments when I see strangers as neutral, where I do not feel anything like a threat or a bad feeling toward them. I think this is because, in my own experience, nothing truly bad has ever happened to me because of them.

Today

Now I believe that with strangers I should always be cautious, since I usually do not know much about them, and they often have questionable intentions that can lead me into more trouble, especially nowadays when scams are the first thing that come to my mind. In the past, I never had any faith in certain people or groups, especially those that belong to some community, unless they are registered as a legitimate business and not some gang that usually has some organized scheme going on. Having faith in someone or in people is something I consider to be reserved for those who are noble, or at least more than just random individuals or members of some vague group.

Past time

For me, the moment I find a stranger useful is when the unknown in a situation becomes clearer because of their presence, and I feel that this stranger is helping me turn things into something much better than before. In my experience, strangers have been useful and have helped in some cases where most people would usually be afraid of them, since they do not really know what these strangers are doing with the people around them or what their motivation is for making contact. I have also done business with strangers, especially in the past, because I believed they were selling cheaper products than what people would normally be able to get.

I believe the strangers people always talked about were simply locals selling me items that were already very hard to find, and that could be found genuine only in rare cases. This always made me feel that there were certain people in the local community, or in the groups I was usually placed in, with whom I shared some belongings and parts of my identity. I realized this especially as a kid, when I had visited strangers from time to time and discovered some valuable things compared to what I see today. In conclusion, for me this question is one I tend to avoid, because I have never really had faith in my own people, and no stranger has ever restored that faith.
