Introduction
If I had a time machine and could send one message to my past self, I would say: always remember Allah by doing what is good and beneficial for your future. This message reflects my current life and highlights several things that needed correction in the past, especially within myself. Remembering Allah includes making istighfar and keeping oneself disciplined by reciting *Subhanallah*, *Alhamdulillah*, or *Allahu Akbar* as often as possible, usually after the obligatory prayers, depending on one’s circumstances.
Why I Choose This Message
In the past, I realized that I did not remember Allah very often, especially when it came to *dhikr*, in which one immerses oneself in worship and devotes that time to prayer instead of other activities that are not related to faith. Today, I recognize that this was a mistake, even though many people still assume I am the same as I was before, which is no longer true. This message is a reminder to my past self, written with the awareness I have now, and it is somewhat amusing to see how my former behavior was shaped. Above all, the benefit of remembering Allah is far greater than neglecting Him, as it leads to all kinds of good deeds as a natural result.
This includes being aware that Allah is always around them and helping every person in need, which will lead to greater rewards, especially in the hereafter. For me, the hereafter is one of the most important things that a Muslim should already know about, and engaging in these activities will maximize their reward, and inshaAllah, they will also receive better things in this dunya. The messages I chose are related to my past and who I am right now, as I am also struggling with life, especially in my daily routine. I believe that those who struggle in the past will receive something much better in the future than what they are experiencing in the present.
Conclusion
In conclusion, what matters most right now is that my future self receives the message I want them to know, so that they will recognize the enlightenment I gain in the future and, hopefully, get some kind of boost in their studies, especially during high school or school in general. Of course, all of this comes with Insyallah. If the message is ignored, that is no longer my responsibility, since I have done my part by sending it.
