If I had to get a tattoo right now, it would definitely be the symbol of Konoha from Naruto. That green leaf emblem has always been my favorite symbol in the series. I’ve been a fan of Naruto since I was a kid, watching it on Malaysian television, where the channel kept airing it at a fixed time so everyone could enjoy it for free. For me, the Konoha symbol would make a meaningful tattoo, especially on my own body. When I was younger, the dragon symbol was the most common design among people around me, and I used to have it drawn on my hand whenever I played with friends.

Why I Chose Konoha Tattoo

The Konoha tattoo symbol has always been one of my favorite symbols to wear, even when I was a child. Before that, I liked dragon designs the most. If you grew up in an Eastern time zone, maybe you got into these kinds of things like I did. Naruto wears this symbol on his headband. Especially when he was a child and growing up, Konoha meant everything to him, and he was even willing to fight for it. For me, getting this kind of tattoo isn’t just for fun. It’s not only for show, but also a way to honor how much Naruto used to shape my entertainment in the past, even though I don’t watch it anymore. One of the best things I could imagine is belonging to the Konoha clan itself. As for Sasuke, he originally belonged to Konoha, but he eventually left it.

Muslims generally view tattoos as impermissible and associate them more with people of other faiths, often referred to as non-Muslims. Muslims who follow the Qur’an base this prohibition on certain verses. I personally accept these verses as true, since my teachers taught them to me during my high school years. Because of this, I understand that at this point in my life I cannot get a tattoo, as doing so would not follow the sunnah of the Prophet (saw). In addition, tattoos stay permanently on the body, and removing them is difficult if you get them just for fun. However, in some other situations, such as when people use tattoos to identify a person’s origin or status, the ruling on permissibility may differ. When I was a child, though, I simply enjoyed wearing tattoos with my friends.

Conclusion From Getting a Tattoo

Getting a permanent tattoo can be very serious, and in many cases people strictly discourage it because of the lasting effects. Removing this kind of tattoo usually involves risk, especially when the ink embeds deeply in the skin and you cannot fully remove it. In those situations, it clearly becomes impermissible. So choosing to get a tattoo should always be based on what your true motive is. For myself, I’ve found that getting a small tattoo of the Konoha symbol just for fun could be valid and permissible. At the same time, I avoid any tattoos that might seriously harm or damage my body, even if they are considered art.
